The ministry of deliverance was apart of the ministry of Jesus, the early church and it
should be apart of today's church. Most Christians today are unaware of demonic activity in their lives and in the church. We have more confidence in counseling and medications then we do the authority that we have been granted by Jesus Christ our Lord! Our desire is simply to awaken the believer to Ministry of Deliverance,
Jesus during his ministry on earth made this statement:
I will not speak with you much longer, for the ruler of the world (Satan) is coming. And he has no claim on Me [no power over Me nor anything that he can use against Me] John 14:30 (Amp) Jesus's personal ministry to himself was to remain free from all unclean spirits, and it should be ours! One way to accomplished this is by knowing the schemes of Satan.
…so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes. 2 Corinthians 2:11
Mark 1:21-25; 32-35; 39; Luke 13:10-18; Matthew 10:1-8; Mark 16:17; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 8:6-8 (please read)
The terms devils, unclean spirits, evil spirits, demons are all synonymous and can be used interchangeably. Spirits are disembodied entities and are restless and tormented without a body.
Demonic Hierarchy: Scriptures - Revelations 12:9; Ephesian 6:12
Satan is the ruling force over the kingdom of darkness with its spirits (fallen angels). His kingdom is limited as to their activities and powers over humanity and must be granted legal entry into a person’s life in order to occupy that person’s being. (Luke 11:14-26; Luke 8:30-33).
The sole objective for Satan and his kingdom is to keep humanity from living, moving and being in the Kingdom of Light. If he fails here, his only recourse is to frustrate the believer’s walk and to cause he/she to be unproductive and ineffective.
John 8:44 – murderer/liar
John 10:10 –steal/kill/destroy
Revelation 12:12 – angry/furious
1 Peter 5:8 – roams around seeking victims to devour
Satan and his kingdom of darkness are defeated enemies: Revelation 12:11; Hebrews 2:14-15; Colossians 2:15 and James 4:7)
The two most effective ways to recognize unclean spirits are through the gifts of Discerning of spirits and the Word of Knowledge (I Corinthians 12:8;10). However, unclean spirits have traits and can also recognized through them.
Demonic Traits/Activities: There are nine basic traits or activities that unclean spirits possess:
There is a distinct difference between the flesh and a unclean spirit. The flesh is the unregenerate part of humanity that if it’s not placed on the cross of Jesus daily it will continue to live with its desire for sinful behavior (Galatians 5:24). The flesh must be killed daily! Think of it this way; your flesh is like a dead carcass and the unclean spirits are like vultures, surrounding and waiting for the beast to die so that they can feed on it.
Unclean spirits on the other hand are disembodied spirits that roam the earth seeking shelter (physical body) for their activity. Unclean spirits can’t be killed they can only be expelled or cast out.
Here’s an easy way to remember, Crucify the flesh and cast out unclean spirits!
Unclean spirits areas of residence: (Proverbs 25:28)
What would happen if a city had no local government and no law enforcement?
What kind of people would this city attract? Why?
Just like crooks and criminals would be drawn to cities that are without government and law enforcement, unclean spirits house themselves in areas of residence that are left unguarded. Here are some of the places:
